With award season wrapping up, some of the beauty and fashion trends we have seen on the Red Carpet have left me crushing. The Oscars were full of dramatic looks and award giving (aka the best picture mix-up). The colours, flair, and hair styles are definitely worth giving a try this spring/summer. Here are some of my Spring look favourites I will definitely be doing this spring and summer
5 Trends for Spring 2017 : Fashion and Beauty
I love silver, gold, and anything that shimmers. Metallics are the new Neutral, especially in shoes and bags. If you don’t want to go all matchy matchy, change your shoe or purse to a metallic and it will always work! Some of my favourite Metallic dresses from the Oscars this year, are super elegant and chic. I am drawing inspiration from these elegant ladies wardrobe into my more middle class budget.
Jessica Biel’s dress was ‘WOW’ already, but the metallic fringe/feather collar necklace set it over the top. I also got super jealous when I saw Alicia Vikander and Taraji P Henson’s Diamond Collar Necklaces. Where were these necklaces when I got married! So elegant and perfect for a bride or even wedding guest to add that over the top look to their outfit.
Mix and Match Parings
I am all about symmetry, so mixed and matched shoes or earrings are slowly eating away at me. I think they are subtly edgy but fun. Check out these shoes Naomie Harris wore, super cute (see below). The easiest way to replicate the mix and match look is with earrings. Although Charlize Theron’s look was not a best dressed winner, her earrings made a case for the mix and match trend.
When I saw Jennnifer Lawrence’s Hair at the end of last year, I wanted to cut off all my hair. Then I remembered I don’t look good with short hair. But if you do, then I would give a thumbs up to trim your hair to a Long Bob. It depends of your hair type and face shape, these ladies know they can rock the long bob easily. Nina Dobrev just cut her famously long locks to metaphorically close a chapter in her life (R.I.P Vampire Diaries) and start fresh this spring.
We only wear Pink on Wednesdays, (and Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays) the weekend is for au natural. Pink was on the runway this season in fashion, but cheeks, lips and even eyelids are embracing the rosey trend too. This one is super easy, who wouldn’t try a pink lip or cheek ? Keeping it shimmery and light helps to keep your face fresh this spring.
